Don't Mind Me, I'm Only Dying Slow by Jackie Greene

jasper

chugging along, i have a thing for lonely trees.
they

grow all
by themselves,

on hills or in the valley

and
i love them (for their

solitary stance).
holding

on, i tread earth
like water  /  i dig

myself
holes

in shell-shocked mountains,

and
i have a thing for lonely branches.
i like the

hush / they keep
inside

their boughs.
