christmas this year
is like
playing a six-string guitar
with only five strings after
one
popped off
and hit me kerplunk
in the face i
lost it
in the shuffle.
the music sounds
muffled and
i wonder if anybody
but me can hear
the melody,
like laughing in
december,
and bells.
i keep playing not
because it
sounds good but
because
it is christmas,
and
even when something
is missing
you can
hear it in your
heart.
